Souvenirs of Eurasia
Charbel Haber is a musician, performer, visual artist and composer. Through his work, he has collaborated with artists from a wide range of disciplines, spanning film, video, visual arts and theatre. As a solo artist and as a member of post-punk band Scrambled Eggs, he has composed music for directors Khalil Joreige, Joana Hadjithomas and Ghassan Salhab, video artists Lamia Joreige and Akram Zaatari and playwrights Rabih Mroueh and Lina Saneh, amongst others. His collaborative career includes free improv group Johnny Kafta Anti-Vegetarian Orchestra and psychedelic Arabic music ensembles Malayeen and Omarchestra. He is the founder of Those Kids Must Choke and co-founder of Johnny Kafta’s Kids Menu – two experimental record labels – and he has recorded and collaborated with notable artists from the fields of free rock and improv such as Michael Zerang, Mats Gustafson, Eddie Prevost, Oiseaux-Têmpete. For his latest project The Bunny Tylers he is working with long-time collaborator Fadi Tabbal, fusing his singer-songwriter sensibilities with a production that plunders his ambient/drone/post-punk past. And since 2017, one half of Good Luck In Death, an anti-futurist ambient project with french electronic artist Mondkopf. Haber lives and works in Beirut.
